The interiors of MJane Studio was conceptualised with a modern, brutalist approach to interior design. Converting the space from an existing office in the basement of an apartment building, the designed aimed to lean further into the underground bunker aesthetic, by using exposed electricals and textured walls and finishes for an industrial feel. By working closely with the clients (Photographer Vivish George and artist Jane Thompson), their inputs and knowledge of how people would ultimately use the space were large constituents to the design process, and they played an important role in the resultant space.
